Connect to Community

Children who are connected to other people in their extended family, friends, neighbourhood and community have a strong sense of belonging to a network, place and community. This presents them with opportunities to learn about getting along with others.

 

At Younique, we are incorporating activities that would encourage children to connect to their community. The activities include:

• Practise social skills – for example, saying hello, using ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, saying ‘excuse me’ and waiting for your turn in a conversation.

• Get involved with community events e.g. working bees, community gardens, fetes and festivals etc.

• Show children social interactions and connections is built upon mutual understanding. When we work with others and help them, they’ll do the same for you.

• Living Safely with Dogs Program

• Fundraising activities

• Special speakers from people in the community e.g. local firefighter, doctors, dentist etc.

 

We also support local produce, activities and services.
