Promote Healthy Eating

For a tiny belly

Studies show that children who grow up eating a variety of nutritious foods and having balanced diet are more likely to make their own healthy choices as they get older. In Australia, many children spend long hours in early childhood education and care services. This means that children eat many meals and snacks away from their home. Therefore, at Younique Early Learning, we believe that it is our role to provide healthy meals and promote healthy eating in our centre.

Younique will also ensure that food offered throughout the day satisfied children’s individual likes, dislikes, growth and developmental needs, cultural, religious or health requirements and restrictions.

The weekly menu will meet children’s daily nutrition requirements according to the Australian Dietary Guidelines and the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating and are consistent with recommendations from the Australian Government’s Get Up & Grow: Healthy Eating and Physical Activity for Early Childhood. A variety of foods such as vegetables, fruits, cereals, lean meat, fish, chicken, milk, yoghurts and cheeses are provided to our children. The weekly menu and recipe will be displayed on the notice board for parents to view.

We encourage multicultural experiences in meal routines by providing menus from a variety of cuisines. Parents are encouraged to share your children favourite traditional food recipe with the centre.

We are catering for children with special dietary requirements. Please speak to our friendly staff.
